New! The Heat Pump Water Heater

HTP recently launched our newest product, the Heat Pump Water Heater. We are excited about the new addition and even more excited about what goes into making this unit so efficient with an Energy Factor 2.5 times greater than a standard electric water heater.

How It Works:

The Heat Pump Water Heater uses electricity to move heat from one place to another instead of generating it directly. Taking in the surrounding air, the water heater transfers that air to water in an enclosed tank. During periods of high hot water demand, HPWHs switch to electric resistance heat automatically.

The Heat Pump Water Heaters come with control settings that allow you to select different operating modules. The settings are as follows:

Economy Mode - This mode is the most energy saving mode. The unit extracts energy from surrounding air and delivers it to the stored water. This mode provides an industry leading 2.6 EF with a first hour rating that reached up to 65 gallons.

Vacation ModeSave energy even while you're away! While your water heater is in Vacation Mode the unit will drop the temperature down to 50 degrees Fahrenheit to save energy and prevent the water from freezing. Set your unit from anywhere between 3 to 99 days away. Your unit will turn on one day before you return, ensuring you are greeted with warm water upon your return.

Auto Mode- Let your HPWH decide which mode to achieve optimum efficiency and comfort! Auto mode uses the heat pump as the primary heat source while the standard electrical elements provide a backup heat source with extra recovery is needed.

Standard - This mode is typically used during high load conditions where the unit may need to expand more energy than usual.
