The MODBUS/BACnet is a cost saving system that collects sensors, status and fault data and controls the appliance directly using one connection. It elimnates the use of expensive external sensors and I/O hardware to measure the same parameters externally. The MODBUS/BACnet was developed for an easy interface to BMS or industrial control systems. Discrete registers are available individually and also grouped into word registers for easy programming.
