# Hurricane Affected Water Heaters

[HTP](http://www.htproducts.com/) sends our deepest sympathies and thoughts to those who were affected by the devastating impact of the recent hurricanes. While many states begin to rebuild and repair, it is crucial now, more than ever, to keep in mind the importance of safety and how dangerous a water heater exposed to flood water can be.

All homeowners and business owners who have experienced flood damage are STRONGLY advised to take the necessary steps to replace their heating systems according to the [Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI)](http://www.ahrinet.org/Home.aspx). Regardless of attempts to clean the unit or the way the unit operates prior to the flooding it MUST be replaced as bigger, more dangerous issues can arise further down the road.
