An Easy Way to Extend the Life of Your Boiler

Below are some tips from NewStepLiving.com on how to extend the life of your furnace or boiler.

Have you taken a look at your boiler recently? If your boiler gets past 20 or so years, it pays to upgrade to a more energy-efficient system. But in the meantime, there are basic things you should do to keep your HVAC systems, like your furnace or boiler, in great working condition.

Since the combustion chamber mixes fuel with air, you want that air to be as clean as can be to prevent any buildup that can reduce performance over time.

One way to do that is to keep the area around the boiler or furnace clear of dust and debris, so that the system takes in cleaner air.

This also makes your home safer.  You don’t want anything flammable near a combustion appliance.

The bottom line: Better and cleaner combustion will help maintain good performance, and an annual tune-up will keep the system operating properly, extending the life of your furnace or boiler.

Is anything blocking your HVAC system?
