HTP is Moving to New Bedford Business Park!

NEW BEDFORD — HTP, Inc., a Freetown-based designer and manufacturer of renewable and high-efficiency products for space and water heating, is moving its headquarters into the former AFC Cable Systems site in the New Bedford Business Park, city officials announced today.HTP expects to add 40 jobs to its 155 current employees, according to a statement released by the office of Mayor Jon Mitchell.“Today’s announcement shows the tremendous potential of New Bedford to play a leading role in the so-called ‘green economy’ fast emerging in Massachusetts,” Mitchell said. “We are already home to a leading solar panel installer and remain well positioned to lead the nation in offshore wind energy. HTP is exactly the kind of company that we see creating good jobs for our residents in years ahead.”HTP develops, manufactures and distributes space and water heating products. The company also manufactures a variety of solar thermal panels and related products that provide renewable heat and hot water for residential and commercial uses.“We are excited about HTP’s next chapter and the opportunity to grow our company in the New Bedford Business Park,” HTP President Dave Martin said in the city’s announcement. “This transformation will help us expand our innovative product line as we continue to produce high efficiency space and water heating systems.”In addition to its headquarters, HTP also will be moving its Minnesota-based solar thermal manufacturing plant to the area, the city said.
